The College was founded in 1965 under the leadership of Late Madhab Chandra Chakraborty as the Founder Principal along with a few teachers namely Late Dwijendra Nath Sarmah, Sri Anil Chandra Sarmah and Sri Khagendra Nath Sarmah Baruah. Initially the college started with only 130 students. The college was brought under the Deficit Grants-in-Aid system in 1974 and the college got recognized by the University Grants Commission in the same year.Â
The year 1965 (6th day of February) saw the birth of a new educational institution at Jorhat namely Jorhat Commerce College. The need for such an institution, for a full- fledged commerce college, was long felt and recognized by all concerned. In July 1966 the College Governing Body changed the name of the college to “Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah Commerce College“.
The college was granted permanent affiliation in the year 1975 – 76. In the year of its inception the college had 130 students on the roll.

- B Com Pass course & B Com with Honours in Accountancy.
