The year 1965 (6th day of February) saw the birth of a new educational institution at Jorhat namely Jorhat Commerce College. The need for such an institution, for a full- fledged commerce college, was long felt and recognized by all concerned. In July 1966 the College Governing Body changed the name of the college to “Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah Commerce College“.

The college was granted permanent affiliation in the year 1975 – 76. In the year of its inception the college had 130 students on the roll.

Courses offered at the time of inception are –

  • Pre – University under Dibrugarh University.
  • B Com Pass course & B Com with Honours in Accountancy.
